Last summer the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network held their annual conference here in Bangkok. (AVPN is an organization that helps Social Purpose Organizations (SPOs) match up with impact funders.) Some of the team members from the School of Global Studies were able to volunteer at the event, and we were fortunate enough to sit down with the organization’s CEO, Naina Batra, for this brief interview. Naina shared insights on their work, including the new “Deal Share Live” program (which was interesting and fun to take part in), as well as discussing their challenges like reaching people who need help connecting with impact funding.
Along with helping deserving organizations find funding, AVPN creates a number of useful reports that they provide to the public (The latest is their set of reports on the Social Investment Landscape in Asia), as well as workshops and free webinars via their Knowledge Center.
Please check out our discussion, and if you’d like to learn more, hop on over to the AVPN site. avpn.asia/
